When we are parents to a pet it’s so hard for us to leave them behind when we’re on vacation, they are part of our family and to be apart from them can be sad and painful, not to mention complicated, because it’s not always easy to find where to leave our doggies, make sure that they are well taken care of or find the right dog care center that can cost a lot of money and won’t give us the certainty that our dog will be calm and feeling like home.

Let us give you some good news because we love dogs in Puerto Vallarta and we are more than ready to receive them so this is why we want to give you some advices that will make your pet friendly vacations what you always hoped for.
First of all, we advice that just like in any other city, to be very careful with your dog, to always walk them with a strap and to be responsible of cleaning the streets if they had to use them as a toilet.

This being said, remember that Puerto Vallarta is a city that reaches high temperatures and heatstrokes are not uncommon if we don’t hydrate well, and dogs are not an exception, so it’s important that you take with you on every walk a small bowl where you can give them water constantly so they are well hydrated and can enjoy their walk. It would also be good to avoid a walk between 12 and 4 in the afternoon because that’s the time where the heat is stronger and could be exhausting for you both.

We also think that it’s important to tell you that if you want t take your dog to the beach, we recommend you to go to Nuevo Vallarta. The beaches there are very wide open and have a lot of space to run into, you’ll find friends to play with and usually these beaches have very calm waters that will allow them to get into and splash without the danger of very high waves or a very strong tide.

And the most important recommendation of all is for you to pick well the hotel where you’ll be staying, of course it has to be a pet friendly hotel, but not just any, we will give you two of the best options in Puerto Vallarta for you to have a dreamy stay with your doggy.

The first one is Puerto de Luna Pet Friendly & Family Suites Hotel. You’ll be able to have up to two pets with you in your room with a small additional cost, which includes a biodegradable bag roll for their waste, comfortable beds for them and drinking bowls, besides having a doggy park with large gardens where they can run and play with the ball.

Another great option is Mío Hotel, which is perfectly well located in an area where you can walk your dog and enjoy the beautiful views of the astonishing trees in Fluvial avenue. They take one dog per room of up to 18 kilos.

So now you know that these vacations in Puerto Vallarta will be very special because your dog baby will have just as much fun as you will!
